Hi everyone!
Today I thought I'd share my thoughts on a recent purchase. I decided to order the 35b palette from Morphe Brushes after realizing I don't use enough colored shadows. I always stick within the same tones: browns, purple, tans, and burgundies. So, to force myself to step out of my comfort zone, I ordered this palette. Look at how gorgeous these colors are!

I decided to go with a Morphe Brushes palette because I recently ordered a neutrals palette from them and absolutely LOVED it! Their shadows are super high quality, especially considering the price. Their individual shadows go for $2 a piece! I haven't ordered any of those yet, but I've heard they're even better than the shadows that come in their palettes (I am hoping to try a few of those soon). Their shadow palettes come with 35 colors and sell for $19.99 to $22.99 (this palette in particular was $19.99).
I thought the best way to discuss this palette would be to swatch out all of the shadows and tell you my thoughts on them. I am going to go row by row and show you the shadows with and without flash. Here we go!

The rows progressively get darker as you go from top to bottom. The top row is fairly basic and contains white, a few light pinks/purples, some greens and a blue. The two that stand out to me the most are the third and fifth shadow in. They are the shimmery light pink and green. I usually don't tend to gravitate towards greens so I was pretty surprised by my reaction to this one. I can't wait to use it in a smoky eye as a highlight on the center of the lid.
Row two contains the shadows I feel I'll get the most use out of (specifically shadows two, three, and four). These are medium in depth which makes them extremely versatile and the bit of shimmer really catches the eye. I also really love the last color in this row. I immediately think of using it under the eye to add a pop of color to a dramatic smoky eye.
Row 3 is slightly disappointing for me. The colors aren't super bold. The only exception being the far right blue which is absolutely stunning. I feel like I'll be using these colors mainly for blending and diffusing bolder colors. The shimmery blue however, will make an amazing liner.
Row 4 contains the color that sold me on this palette, that beautiful shimmery butter yellow. There is no limit to what you can do with this color. So far I have been using it in my dear duct instead of my standard cream color and it works wonders. It immediately opens up my eye and adds some soft drama to the look.
And finally is row 5! These are the darkest colors in the palette although not necessarily the boldest. It contains a yellow, a stunning shimmery peachy/pink, orange, violet, forest green, shimmery brown, and black. These colors will be perfect for adding depth to the crease and outer v areas of the eye.
Overall, I am incredibly pleased with my purchase. I did find that the shimmery shadows seemed to be the most pigmented. They are also incredibly creamy and easy to work with. The matte shades, on the other hand, seem to be slightly more sheer. However, they are easily buildable and you can pack on the color with a dense brush to make them more solid. I cannot wait to work with these shadows and see what I can come up with. Stay tuned and I will post some pictures of the looks I create with this palette.
