I've been wanting to try this product for quite a while but at $69 for a 1.2 oz jar, it took me a while to justify the purchase.
I'm sure many of you have heard of it. I'm talking about....
GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment
I'm just going to jump right into my first impressions. I decided to write this as I am using it for the first time ever so you really are getting my first impressions. I did go back and edit it though so it didn't seem like a rant.
Let's discuss this packaging for a minute. This has to be the most beautifully packaged product I've ever purchased. Not gunna go into too much detail on this because the pictures pretty much show it all. Basically it has super clean lines and colors which make it look super high end. After thinking about the packaging a bit I realized as gorgeous as it is, it just kinda sucks that they have this intense packaging with all these layers for such a little jar. I felt like I threw out so much stuff after finally getting to the product.

Next up is the product itself. I opened up the jar and peeled back the seal to reveal a gorgeous charcoal colored mask. The scent is a bit strong and I can't seem to find a good word to describe it. It's almost like a mint or menthol. It wasn't the best smell ever but I kind of adjusted to it as I wore it. The mask is a lot thinner consistency than I expected. When they use the word "mud" in the title, I expect a thick paste. But I really loved how easy this product was to apply. It's nice and thin so it goes on smoothly and evenly and you don't have to use much product (which at $69 a pop is always a good thing). Here are some pictures of my skin before applying the product as well as immediately following application.
As you can see, I have some pretty nasty blackheads and enlarged pores on and around my nose. I chose this product hoping to resolve these issues. I've used pore strips, pore minimizers, blackhead gels, anything you can think of. These products always seem to work well at first but after a few hours the blackheads reappear. The second photo's a bit blurry but you get the idea. It goes on a dark grey - green color and it started to dry fairly quickly which you can see by the lighter grey parts.
I did feel a little bit of tingling after applying the product. This is pretty normal for me because I have very sensitive skin. It didn't feel hot or burn which was great because that seems to happen to me a lot.
Here is what it looked like after 10 minutes. They recommend letting it sit for 5 to 20 minutes. I decided to go for the full 20 to get the full effect.

And finally, after 20 minutes it was time to wash the mask off. Here's what it looked like at that point. The company claims that the dark spots that didn't dry into that light grey color are pores that had grease and dirt buildup that the mask sucked to the surface. Kind of gross but if it does what it says then it will all be worth it.
Tada! After washing off the mask my pores were significantly clearer. I won't say that they were any more clear than when I use other blackhead products that I own or have tried. However, the most important part for me is that the results actually last. Like I said before, most times my blackheads are back within a few hours so if these results last longer than that I'll call it a success.
You'll also see that my skin looks pretty red and irritated. As my skin is so sensitive, this didn't really concern me too much. Most products do this to my skin and it will go away fairly quickly.
After rinsing it off, I applied my usual toner to clean out any remaining product. I followed that up with a pore minimizer to tighten my pores even more and then finished off with moisturizer. This is when I noticed a bit of burning and extra tingling which made me a little nervous for a while but it went away after like 15 minutes and my skin feels great.
Below is a picture of about 30 minutes after using the product which has given enough time to pretty much get back to normal in terms of redness. So much better!

Overall, I think this product does what it says. It helped clean out and tighten my pores as well as smooth the surface of my skin. Whether or not I think it's worth the hype and the money is still up for debate. Most likely, I will update this post after using this product a few more times to let you guys know what I think.
I hope you guys enjoyed this and stay tuned for more first impressions!

UPDATE:
Hey everyone just wanted to update you on this product. Below is a picture of my skin about 12 hours after using GlamGlow. My pores seem to have enlarged to their normal size. You can really see it just outside my nose. Although they're larger, they're still pretty clear which is amazing if you ask me! Also below are pictures of my results using the product on my chin. It didn't seem to work as well there as it did on my nose but I also didn't have as many issues on my chin.

So I'm thinking I really like this product. It's still hard for me to swallow the price but I'm going to try and make this last as long as possible by using it as a spot treatment instead of a full face mask. I definitely think I'll be repurchasing this when I run out. I'll keep you all posted if my opinion on this changes at all!
